Mt. Pleasant, IA – The Hannibal-LaGrange Women's Basketball Team traveled to Mt. Pleasant, Iowa on Saturday afternoon to take on Iowa Wesleyan University. HLGU played the Tigers two weeks ago falling by a score of 69-29. The IWU defense held the Trojans in check all game.

STAT TRACKER

• Ashlyn Vermeer led the team in scoring putting up 14 points and adding five rebounds.

• Jade Scroggins went a perfect 3-3 from the field scoring seven points and two assists.

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE

• For the first six minutes, the two teams went pretty much shot for shot with each other before the Tigers went on a 9-0 run.

• At the half, the Trojans were down 47-28. .

• Iowa Wesleyan won the turnover battle over HLGU 21-10 and they were able to capitalize off those 21 Trojan turnovers by scoring 25 points. The Trojans however, were only able to turn the IWU 10 turnovers into two points.

• The Tigers outshot the HLGU from the free-throw line going 25-35 compared to the Trojans 4-11.
