Men's Basketball Drops Tight Contest to Bobcats

Hannibal, MO – The Hannibal-LaGrange University Men's Basketball Team hosted the Bobcats of College of Ozarks in a Tuesday night non-conference matchup. HLGU entered Tuesday coming off of a tough loss in the final seconds of their last contest while the Bobcats are coming in off of a double-digit win in their last matchup. The two teams played an exciting game that was tight down to the wire.

  • HLGU got out to a quick start in the first half starting the game on a 5-0 run in the first two minutes.
  • The Trojans controlled the game and the lead up until the last two minutes of a closely contested first half before going into halftime down 28-26.
  • HLGU came out the same way after the break, controlling the first seven minutes of the second half.
  • The Bobcats took the lead with 11:20 to play and did not give it back.
  • The Trojans pulled within two points in the closing seconds of the game but the Bobcat's Tanner Rogers hit two free-throws off an HLGU intentional foul to seal the win for College of the Ozarks 66-62.
  • The Bobcats utilized a good night from three-point range going 10-23 (43.5%), compared to the Trojan's 6-25 (24%).
  • HLGU was able to capitalize off 16 Bobcat turnovers, scoring 29 points off them.
  • Each team was fairly even in rebounds with the Bobcats recording 24 and the Trojans pulling in 29 boards.
