Volleyball Fights Hard for Win over Stars

Hannibal, MO – Hannibal-LaGrange University Volleyball faced off against the Stephens College Stars on Friday evening.  The two teams entered the game with a conference record of 0-1 after a tough first matchup.  The Stars came out on the attack and were able to maintain a lead on the Trojans throughout most of the first set.  But HLGU put up quite a battle through the final seven points to come out with a first set win.  SC battled back and won the second set before the Trojans won the final two sets.

  • The Trojans battled at the end of every set and found a way to win in three of the four sets.

  • HLGU recorded 49 kills apposed to 57 from Stephens.  The Trojans were slightly more efficient in their hitting percentage.
  • Serving was really the difference in the game as both teams posted double digit errors.

NEXT TIME OUT

  • The Trojans will be traveling to St. Louis, Missouri to play against Harris-Stowe State University on Tuesday, September 28.  The game is scheduled ot begin at 7 PM.  The ladies will not return home till October 14.

  • "There were many highs and lows in this match.  Overall, we came bak almost each set and won.  Proud of their determination to believe they can make a comeback.  Nw we just need to work on starting strong so there is no need for the comeback."
