Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Trojans Take Cougars into Overtime in Conference Opener

Hannibal, MO – The Hannibal-LaGrange University Men's Soccer Team hosted Columbia College Cougars for the first conference match-up of the year.  The Cougars came into the game ranked #4 in the NAIA and HLGU stayed with them throughout.  Columbia took an early lead in the game on a penalty kick that was called in the box on a hand ball.  But the Trojans evened the score in the 69' minute as Mason McQueen flew through the air to flick on a header to Benjamin Contreras.  Contreras finished the ball past the keeper to tie the game.  As the game went into overtime, HLGU had a lot of the momentum and continued to pressure the back line of the Cougars.  But in the end, CC crossed a great ball into the box and it was headed into the back of the net for a golden goal.
