Hannibal, MO - The Hannibal-LaGrange Men's Soccer Team welcomed Bethel University from Tennessee to Blackwell Field on Saturday afternoon. The Wildcats are ranked in the top 10 in the NAIA to begin the season.  The Trojans gave up a goal in each half. Alvaro Rueda made several key saves in the game that allowed HLGU to stay close.

• HLGU gave up to penalty kicks but the Wildcats did not score on either attempt.

• The Trojans had 13 shots with three of them being on goal.

• BU had 13 shots as well but recorded six on goal.

• The first goal was a solid cross into the box that was flicked on by Baguena. The second goal saw the Trojans defense unable to clear a saved ball in the box as the Wildcats were able to capitalize.

NEXT TIME OUT

• The Men's Soccer Team will be home again on September 8 at 2:00 PM. The match up will be against local rival Culver-Stockton College.

• "Overall I thought we did a good job today executing the game plan and staying organized against a top 10 team. We still need to do a better job of finishing opportunities and organizing quickly defensively. We will look to improve this against Culver-Stockton on Wednesday."
