Women's Basketball Returns to Play Old Conference Foe

Parkville, MO – The Hannibal-LaGrange University Women's Basketball Team traveled to Parkville to take on former AMC conference rival, Park University on Monday evening. Throughout the game, the Trojans struggled with shooting and in the end, they fell 66-46. Their next matchup will be next Tuesday, the 29th against Central Christian College of the Bible in Moberly, Missouri at 6 PM.

STAT TRACKER
  • Ashlynn Vermeer finished with another double-double tonight as she scored 17 points and corralled 10 rebounds. Vermeer also had an assist as well.
  • Rebekah McCombs put in 11 points of her own, hauled in seven rebounds, and had two assists on the night.

  • HLGU went 5-9 (55.56%) from the field in the first quarter while Park shot 9-17 (52.94%). At the end of the quarter, Park held a 23-14 lead.
  • Both teams struggled shooting in the second quarter with each shooting under 26%. 
  • The Pirates extended their lead to 32-21 before the break at halftime.
  • While the Trojans shot well from the line in the third quarter going 5-6, they went just 1-13 from the floor. The lone Trojan score from the field in the quarter was a three-point shot from Sydney Spielbauer.
  • Hannibal-LaGrange out-rebounded Park 42-36.
  • The Trojans turned the ball over 15 times over the course of the game leading to 21 Pirate points. Park turned the ball over six times leading to just one point for HLGU.
