Lady Trojans Earn Tough Win Against Williams Baptist

Hannibal, MO – The Hannibal-LaGrange University Women's Basketball Team played host to Williams Baptist University Monday afternoon for a conference matchup. HLGU will try to get pay-back for the last time the two schools met which ended in a 92-63 Trojans defeat while WBU is going for the season sweep.

STAT TRACKER
  • Jillian Lockard led the team with 18 points, eight rebounds, five steals, and two assists.
  • Makayla Hostettler put up 15 points, dished out five assists, two steals, two rebounds, and blocked one shot.
  • Taylor Flake recorded a double-double, dropping 11 points while grabbing 12 boards. She also added five assists, one steal, and one block.
INSIDE THE BOXSCORE
  • HLGU utilized an 8-0 run in the middle of the first quarter to take a nine point lead into the break (21-12).
  • The Trojans built upon their momentum from the first quarter and kept it rolling through the second quarter and took a 14 point lead into halftime (39-25).
  • WBU was able to erase the Trojan in the third quarter, outscoring HLGU 23-9 and ending the quarter tied at 48.
  • Hannibal pushed through the adversity though and scored 23 points in the fourth quarter to secure their win by a score of 71-66.
  • HLGU converted on 16-19 free-throws with 13 of those coming in the fourth quarter.
  • The Trojans grabbed 43 rebounds while WBU had just 30.
