Winona Lake, IN – The Hannibal-LaGrange University Men's Basketball Team met Carolina University in the final game of the year Saturday for the NCCAA National Basketball Championships third place game. After a gritty, hard fought game, the Trojans were defeated and took home fourth place in the tournament.

- HLGU took a slim four point lead into the break 33-29.
- At the 16 minute mark in the second half, the Trojans had their largest lead of the game at 7 points then the Bruins went on an 18-4 scoring run to take control over the next 8 minutes.
- The Trojans continued to fight but it was not enough to overcome their deficit and they would go on to lose 50-63.
- HLGU struggled shooting in the second half going just 5-24 from the field while Carolina went 13-23.
- From the free-throw line, the Trojans went a perfect 7-7 today.
- HLGU out-rebounded the Bruins 32-28.
- Carolina was able to score 15 points of turnovers in the game while HLGU scored just two.
