Hannibal, MO – The Hannibal-LaGrange University Women's Basketball Team battled William Woods University, continuing conference play Saturday afternoon at home. Using efficient shooting, clutch three-point shots, free-throws, and good pressure on defense, the Trojans came away with an 80-70. Next up for HLGU will be a trip to Conway, Arkansas to play Central Baptist College next Thursday at 5:30 pm.

- Rebekah McCombs tallied a double-double with 23 points and 13 rebounds. McCombs also had two assists, two blocks, and one steal.
- Ashlyn Vermeer also recorded a double-double with 28 points and 11 rebounds. Vermeer also had four assists and one steal.

- The Trojans started the game off hot with an early 7-0 run. They led the Owls 19-17 at the end of the first.
- In the first half, HLGU shot 15-28 (53.6%) in order to take a four point lead into halftime (38-34).
- The Trojans continued their efficient shooting and strong defense in the second half to build their lead before taking the win 80-70.
- In addition to a strong overall shooting performance, HLGU shot the three ball well today too going 7-13 (53.8%).
- The Trojans pulled in 40 rebounds compared to the Owls 24.
- Free-throws were a strong suit for Hannibal-LaGrange throughout the game as well as they went 21-27 (77.8%).
- Two Trojans (Rebekah McCombs and Ashlyn Vermeer) recorded double-doubles today.
- 80 HLGU points is the most they have scored in a game this season, surpassing the old total by three (77 against Manhattan Christian).
