HLGU Doubles Up KCC on Homecoming

Hannibal, MO – The Hannibal-LaGrange University Women's Basketball Team took on Kansas Christian College Saturday afternoon in their Homecoming matchup. From the opening tip, the Trojans dominated nearly every aspect of the game, cruising to a 90-46 win. Five Trojans finished with double digits in scoring, with two (Taylor Flake and Ivy Lesley) recording double-doubles. Next up, HLGU will take on Central Christian College of the Bible on Tuesday night at 5 pm, in Moberly, Missouri.

STAT TRACKER 

  • Taylor Flake put up a double-double performance with 21 points and 12 rebounds. Flake also dished six assists, had two steals, and blocked a shot.  

  • Allison Whittle finished second in scoring for the Trojans with 16 points. She also recorded seven rebounds, one assist, and one steal.  

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE 

  • The Trojans started off the game hot offensively, going 12-23 (52.17%) from the field to build a nine-point lead after the first quarter of play.  

  • HLGU's defense held the Falcons to single digits in the second quarter.  

  • Overall, the Trojans shot 40-90 (44.4%) from the field, while holding KCC to 14-59 (23.7%).  

  • HLGU controlled the turnover battle, giving up nine and taking away 12.  

  • The Trojans also dominated the rebound struggle 62-24.  

  • 54 of HLGU's 90 points came from within the paint.
