Trojans Avenge Early Season Loss to Wildcats

Hannibal, MO – The Hannibal-LaGrange University Men's Basketball Team matched up against Culver-Stockton College in their homecoming contest Saturday afternoon. The Trojans bounced back from a season-opening 22 point loss to the Wildcats, pulling out a gritty 63-58 win in front of an energized home crowd. Four of HLGU's starters finished with double digits in scoring. The Trojans will go on the road to St. Charles on Monday night at 7 pm for an exhibition contest against Lindenwood University. That game will be shown on ESPN+.

  • HLGU's largest lead in the game came with 4:52 to play in the first half. Malakai Munoz hit a three to put the lead at 11 (28-17).  

  • The Trojans went 11-30 (36.67%) from the field in the first half.  

  • At the breaks, HLGU led by four (31-27).  

  • The Wildcats fought back in the second half, making up ground and taking a lead of five with ten minutes to play.  

  • The Trojans came up clutch, tying the game with just under five minutes in the game and not looking back.  

  • In total, HLGU shot 21-55 (38.2%) from the field and 5-18 (27.8%) from deep.  

  • HLGU won the rebound battle 28-24.
