Softball Opens Season in Arkansas and Earn Split with Crowley's Ridge

Jonesboro, AR- The Hannibal-LaGrange University Softball Team opened their season Tuesday afternoon with a doubleheader at Crowley's Ridge College. In the first game, the Trojans battled back from being down multiple times in the game, including being down five runs in the sixth inning. Down to their last out, HLGU scored three runs in the top of the seventh to take the lead before the Pioneers tied it up in the bottom half of the inning. Madi Staley had the go-ahead RBI in the eighth and they would go on to win. In the second game, HLGU battled and fought, again coming back to tie the game in the top of the fifth before allowing three runs in the bottom of the fifth and falling 6-3.
