Hannibal, MO - The Hannibal-LaGrange University Shotgun Sports Team signed Marisa Daniels to begin next fall.  Daniels is currently a senior at Stewardson Strasburg High School. She plans to attend HLGU with the intent to obtain her BSN and go on to become a nurse anesthetist, alongside continuing to shoot competitively. 

She began shotgun shooting in 2021, after an injury in 2020 which prevented her ability to play the sports she previously played. Currently, she is a part of the Stew-Stras Shooting Comets and the Cumberland Boomsticks. Daniels excels in both shotgun shooting and academics. She placed 3rd in both trap and skeet at the 2022 Illinois state shoot, along with placing 2nd in trap and 3rd in skeet in 2023. Additionally, she hopes to place well again at the end of the 2024 spring season. Daniels has also qualified to compete at the trapshooting Nationals, in Mason, Michigan, the past 2 years, and hopes to do so again this year.  Alongside shooting, academically Marisa has maintained high honors and will be graduating this coming spring.
