Spartans End Trojans AMC Tournament Run

Hannibal, MO – The 4th seeded Hannibal-LaGrange University Men's Basketball Team played host to the 5th seeded Missouri Baptist University Spartans in the quarterfinal round of the AMC Men's Basketball Tournament on Thursday evening. After falling behind by 10 points in the first half, the Trojans came back out hot in the second half with Chris Cross draining three three-point shots in a row. The Trojans would draw within two of the Spartans late in the game but could not quite complete the comeback, falling 59-54. Before the game AMC awards and honors were announced where Josh Talton was named 2025 AMC Men's BasketballAll-Conference First-Team as well as AMC Newcomer of the Year. Malakai Munoz was named as a 2025 AMC Men's Basketball All-Conference Honorable Mention as well as 2025 AMC Men's Basketball All-Tournament TeamEddie Ambrose was named to the 2025 AMC Men's Basketball Champions of Character Team.
