Tim Hickman has been hired as the new Assistant Basketball Coach under Coach Jason Durst.  Hickman will assist in the recruiting of young athletes and be the Head Coach of the HLGU Men’s Basketball JV team.  In 18-19 he was an assistant coach at John Wood Community College where the team ended up finishing sixth at the NJCAA D2 National Tournament.  While at JWCC he coached players that won all-conference and regional honors as well as First-Team All-American awards.  His degree is in Sports Management from Culver-Stockton College.

Hickman chose to make the move over to HLGU because he saw an opportunity to contribute and invest in a faith-driven program. The chance to work alongside Coach Durst and learn from his coaching style allowed for an opportunity which he didn’t want to pass up. Hickman has been involved in Athletics for as long as he can remember and loves the challenges that each season brings. He enjoys the process of figuring out how to minimize each teams’ weaknesses and maximize the strengths to enhance the all-around outcome for the program.

Coach Hickman has extensive connections within the homeschool community as well since he led the Quincy Saints Homeschool basketball team for five seasons.  He also coached several individuals that received National Homeschool All-American, NCHS All-Conference, and All-Region awards. 

He is married to his wife, Larissa and they have three beautiful daughters, Addison, Kinsley, and Brenley.
