David Erskine

David Erskine began coaching at Hannibal-LaGrange in 1998 as the school's first head men's and women's soccer coach. In just his second year, Erskine led the women's team to an 18-5-1 record and earned American Midwest Conference (AMC) Coach of the Year accolades. With the hiring of a women's coach in 2001, Erskine turned his focus to the men's soccer program. Since then, he has led the men's squad to 19 straight postseason appearances, a record of 224-119-30 (.641), 4 AMC regular-season titles, 3 AMC tournament titles, 4 NAIA National Tournament appearances, and his teams have been ranked in the final NAIA top 25 poll 4 different times; No. 14 in 2006, No. 3 in 2008, No. 11 in 2011, and No. 7 in 2012.

 Erskine has been selected as the AMC men's Coach of the Year 5 times (2002, 2006, 2011, 2012, 2016) and his players have been recognized as AMC First Team All-conference 61 times, AMC Honorable Mention 32 times, and AMC Academic All-Conference over 100 times.  Erskine has also been privileged to coach 5 AMC Freshmen of the Year, 5 AMC Player of the Year, and 2 AMC Newcomer of the Year. In addition, Hannibal-LaGrange men's soccer players have been named to the NAIA All-American team 12 times, including 3 first-team selections, and the NAIA Scholar-Athlete, 14 times.

Before coming to Hannibal-LaGrange, Erskine spent three years as an assistant soccer coach at Bryan College and completed a Master's of Education degree from the University of Tennessee-Chattanooga during this time. Erskine played for and earned his undergraduate degree in business from Bryan College. In addition to his coaching duties, Erskine is an assistant professor of physical education at Hannibal-LaGrange. He also holds the NSCAA Advanced National Coaching License.

Coach Erskine lives in Hannibal with his wife, Kimberley, and their four children.
