Maliah Blakemore 
Coach Blakemore comes to HLGU from Lincoln Christian University where she played for four seasons (2016-2019). At LCU, Blakemore was selected to the A.I.I. (Association of Independent Institutions) Second Team All-Conference in 2016 and 2017, followed by a AII First Team All-Conference selections in 2018 and 2019. In 2018, Blakemore was also selected as the conference setter of the year and champion of character for the team.   Lastly, she was selected to the A.I.I. AII All-Tournament Team in  2016, 2017, and 2018.  By the end of her college career Blakemore was listed as third all-time in career assists for LCU volleyball. While at LCU, the women's volleyball team qualified for the NAIA National Volleyball Tournament twice.  Blakemore played at Quincy Senior High School in Quincy, Illinois and was a three year starter. In her senior season she was #1 in assists in 4A Illinois high school athletics.

Coach Blakemore began her time at HLGU as a Graduate Assistant in 2020. As a GA, she acted as an assisted coach.  The team finished 6-13 in 2020 and placed 7th in conference with a 3-6 record. Since taking over as head coach in August, she has had a significant impact on the team and finished the season with a 15-11 record and finished third in conference with a 7-2 record. 2021 was the first year since 2010 that HLGU hosted a quarter-final conference tournament game.

The 2020 Lincoln Christian University graduate holds a Bachelor’s in Communications. She is currently pursuing a Master's Degree in Organizational Leadership at HLGU.
