Brown recently graduated from Philander Smith University in Little Rock, Arkansas where she was an integral part of the team. She was an outside hitter for the Panthers and was a major factor in them winning the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference in the 2022-23 season. Brown was selected as the honorable mention 2021 GCAC player of the year.
Coach Brown is excited to begin her head coaching career at HLGU. She expressed her passion for volleyball by stating, “There are so many aspects that go into volleyball that are very exciting to learn and improve on. The sport continues to change and adapt as new schemes emerge.” Coach Brown’s coaching philosophy is based on volleyball as a mindset. She continued, “You need grit, discipline, and determination, or you will never meet the heights of your potential.” Before HLGU Brown coached for Arkansas Volleyball Academy in Sherwood, Arkansas for two years.
Brown adds, “I chose HLGU because of the passion of faith and loving atmosphere. I am thankful to be able to work at an institution with a Christian foundation and with a sport that I love, and because of this, it makes it feel like this job isn’t really a job. I definitely feel more than welcome and know for sure others will as well.”
She received her degree in Elementary Education (K-6) and is excited about the opportunity to work on her master’s degree at HLGU.
