St. Louis, MO – The Hannibal-LaGrange University Women's Volleyball Team advanced to the AMC Volleyball Championship Tournament Quarterfinals on Tuesday after defeating Central Baptist College.  On Friday evening the Trojans played the semifinal game against Columbia College in St. Louis.  The neutral site event saw the two teams battle but in the end the Cougars won all three sets.

• The Trojans recorded 29 kills while the Cougars had 43.
• HLGU jumped out to a lead in two sets but were unable to keep up with the constant pressure from Columbia.
• The Trojans continued to press throughout the game and saw a lot of spirit from a young team.

NEXT TIME OUT

• The Trojans will now wait to see what is next.  They will be participating in the NCCAA North Central Regional Tournament which has yet to be scheduled.

THOUGHTS FROM COACH BLAKEMORE

• "The first set we played our game.  After that we began to make some mental errors which we could not recover from.  All in all, we have played well through our conference which has not happened in a long time.  We will get up and regroup for NCCAA regionals next week."
