HANNIBAL, Mo. – Hannibal-LaGrange University has officially removed the interim tag and named Tim Hickman as the next Head Coach of its women's basketball program.
Hickman served in the interim role during a period of transition, bringing stability, structure, and renewed energy to the program. His leadership, competitive mindset, and alignment with HLGU's Christ-centered mission position him well to lead Lady Trojan basketball into its next chapter.
"Coach Hickman has provided steady leadership and a clear vision for the future of our women's basketball program," said Director of Athletics Clay Biggs. "He is deeply committed to developing young women not only as competitors, but as leaders of character who represent HLGU with integrity and faith."
Throughout his time as interim head coach, Hickman emphasized culture-building, accountability, and player development. The team responded with increased cohesion, improved execution, and a strong commitment to representing the university with excellence both on and off the court.
"I want to first thank God for how He has guided my steps to HLGU and for the many answered prayers throughout this past season," said Hickman. "I am incredibly grateful for my wife, Larissa, and our five amazing children for being the best support system I could imagine. I also want to thank President Dr. Matz and Athletic Director Clay Biggs for the opportunity to lead this program."
The removal of the interim designation reflects the university's long-term confidence in the direction of the program. With recruiting efforts underway and offseason development in full swing, Coach Hickman and his staff are focused on building momentum and strengthening the foundation of HLGU women's basketball.
"Our staff will continue to prioritize developing young women into leaders both on and off the court while building a program that our players, faculty, and community can be proud of," Hickman added.
