Hannibal, MO - The Hannibal-LaGrange University Baseball Team secured their first series victory of the year over Harris-Stowe State University after taking two of three games this week at Veterans Sports Complex. The Trojans bounced back from a tough game one loss to win back-to-back contests and claim the series.

In game one, HLGU fell 2-1 despite out-hitting Harris-Stowe 10-8. Isaac Phillips drove in the Trojans' lone run, while Tyson Wheeler led the way with a 3-4 performance at the plate. Andrew Arnce took the loss, allowing just one earned run across six innings of work.

The Trojans responded in game two with an offensive explosion, outlasting Harris-Stowe 11-10 in a back-and-forth contest. Isaac Phillips powered the offense with two home runs and three RBIs, while Daniel Rodriguez added three hits and drove in two runs, including the game-winning RBI in the bottom of the seventh. Dillyn Ledezma chipped in three hits and two RBIs, and Dylan Garcia contributed two hits and an RBI. Cashton Burks earned the win in relief as the Trojans totaled 14 hits in the victory.

HLGU carried that momentum into game three, securing a 7-1 win to clinch the series. Brennen Garner led the charge with a three-hit, four-RBI performance, including a three-run home run in the third inning. Dylan Garcia added three hits and a home run, while Tyson Wheeler recorded two hits and an RBI. Wyatt Wilson earned the win on the mound, allowing just one run over six innings while striking out five.

The Trojans showed resilience throughout the series, responding to early adversity with consistent offensive production and strong pitching performances in the final two games.

HLGU will look to build on this momentum as they continue conference play in the coming week.
