HANNIBAL, Mo. — The Hannibal-LaGrange University women's volleyball team bounced back in a big way Thursday evening, sweeping Central Bible University 3-0 at the Mabee Sports Complex.

The Trojans controlled the match from the opening serve, winning 25-11, 25-12 and 25-8 to improve to 1-1 on the season.

HLGU established its offensive rhythm early, hitting .321 in the opening set while limiting Central Bible to a -.222 hitting percentage. The Trojans continued to apply pressure throughout the match, finishing with a .274 team hitting percentage compared to -.143 for Central Bible.

After taking the first set 25-11, HLGU maintained its momentum in the second, racing to a 25-12 victory. The Trojans then closed out the match emphatically, dominating the third set 25-8.

Summer Zelei led the Trojan attack with 12 kills, while Sophia Wallace and Brooke Rocca each added five kills. Zelei also contributed a service ace.

Rocca was particularly effective from the service line, recording an impressive 10 aces in the three-set victory. Jillian Millirons added two aces, while Zelei contributed one.

At the net, Jade Clay led the Trojans with two blocks, while Emma Dixon added one.

Delaney Eggemeyer once again directed the HLGU offense, recording 18 assists. Jena Jobb added two assists and also led the Trojan defense with 12 digs. Rocca finished with eight digs, while Eggemeyer contributed five.

When asked about the teams performance Delaney had this to say "I am proud of the teams performance. We have a lot of new faces on the team and some key returners and it was great to see the team perform so well." 
The Trojans will try to carry the momentum of this game into the toughest part of thier schedule with 11 road games in a row.
