Camp Point Central Standout Emma Stephens Signs with HLGU

HANNIBAL, Mo. — Hannibal-LaGrange University is excited to welcome Camp Point Central High School standout Emma Stephens to the Trojan family as she continues her athletic and academic career at HLGU.

A native of Bowen, Illinois, Stephens has enjoyed a successful high school career as a three-sport athlete, competing in volleyball, basketball and softball at Camp Point Central.

Stephens has earned numerous honors for her accomplishments both on the field and in the classroom. During the 2025-2026 school year, she was named West Central Conference First Team in softball and was selected to the Muddy River Sports All-Area Softball Team. She was also recognized as a West Central Conference Academic All-Conference selection in both volleyball and softball.

Her academic success also includes a West Central Conference Academic All-Conference honor in softball during the 2024-2025 school year.

Stephens said HLGU's close proximity to home was an important factor in her decision to continue her education and athletic career in Hannibal.

"I chose HLGU because I like the idea of staying close to home," Stephens said. "I love the size of the university; it will allow me to get to know many other students. I also like that it is faith-based. I'm excited about the coaching staff and getting the opportunity to play after high school."

Stephens will now look to build on her successful high school career as she joins the HLGU softball program. Her experience as a multi-sport athlete, combined with her accomplishments in the classroom and on the softball field, will provide a strong foundation as she begins the next chapter of her career.

HLGU Athletics welcomes Emma Stephens to Hannibal and looks forward to watching her continue to grow as a student-athlete while representing the Trojans.
