FULTON, Mo. — The Hannibal-LaGrange University men's soccer team fell 5-1 to William Woods University Tuesday afternoon.

The Trojans got off to a strong start when Caio Logo scored in the 12th minute to give HLGU an early 1-0 advantage.

William Woods answered late in the first half, with Carter Jones scoring in the 39th minute to send the teams into halftime tied at 1-1.

The Owls took control early in the second half, scoring four goals over the next 25 minutes. Miles Andrews put William Woods ahead in the 48th minute before Jones added his second goal of the match in the 56th minute. Francesco Dibra and Moritz Schafer later found the net to complete the scoring.

HLGU continued to create opportunities throughout the match, finishing with nine shots, including seven on goal. William Woods recorded 14 shots with 12 on target. The Trojans also held a 3-2 advantage in corner kicks in the second half and finished with three corners overall.

HLGU goalkeeper made seven saves in the contest, helping keep the Trojans within striking distance despite the second-half offensive surge by the Owls.

The loss moves HLGU to 0-2-1 on the season, while William Woods improves to 1-1-0.

The Trojans will look to bounce back as they continue their 2026 campaign.
